Ability is the result of knowledge plus experience, this means that you must know the theory and also have practice in your area in order to achieve the necessary ability; in my case I have abilities in different areas.
I have a Business Administration degree with a Marketing emphasis, a five year career, and as an Advertiser and since 1983 as a Advertising Agency co-owner with my partner Jaime Niño, I successfully managed accounts oriented to all targets, as Coca Cola-Marbel, Eleoccidente (Mayor electricity provider), CAVSA (The worlds third aluminum producer), Droguería Nena (Venezuela’s main medical products distributor), La Rana (Multinational furniture and home appliances retail stores), and many others. Also I developed successful political campaigns, and handled Broadcast TV Channels image generation.
I was fourteen when I joined the Catholic-Cinema-Club of La Paz, I received classes on Saturdays and Sundays by Bolivian cinematographers, and had to see, study and disassemble at least three movies a week, all of them provided by our teachers, who were part of the Ukamau Group a team awarded two times with the Palm in the Cannes film festival, this ended in a crush on TV commercials, since my beginnings in late 1979 I have made maybe 300 or more TV spots, many of them with national and international figures; and by made I mean to create, direct the pre-production, production and post-production of each spot, and I owned a Television Production Company with digital production, post-production and a 3D nest, with this assets and being a pioneer in this areas I made work for the Venezuelan Air Force, generated Broadcast presentations and promotions of TV channel’s as Telecentro, Promar, Flamingo TV channel 11 in Curacao; created their sets of musical themes, redesigning main studios, etc., this is a rare specialization in the advertising world. I also made documentaries for large world size corporations, sometimes filming with my team in the middle of the Amazon’s jungle moving on jeeps, trains, boats, helicopters and over the biggest trucks made by GM, went trough the Orinoco river, filmed Industries on processing areas of gigantic containers of boiling acids; in electrolysis factories with 400 kilo amperes (The electrical consumption of a 4,000,000 inhabitant city) and enough magnetic field to stop a pacemaker or any electronic device so we filmed with a manual 16mm Bolex Payard; in smelting plants working with 2,000 centigrade materials; everything in a continuous process that could not stop, so everything had to be done at the first time, and on time, therefore we planned every movement in advance with each area engineers, we worked as usual under Total Quality rules, follow a process and never make mistakes.
My first work in the advertising world was as an art designer, at the age of 15, later as a creative director, and in my advertiser’s career I had to deal with designers, printers and the processes involved, in 1997 with my friend Silenio Tursi I founded Color Digital, the first pre-press bureau in the zone, and oriented it to service printing professionals.
